Five questions to... Milan

Meet Our Customer Insights Specialist Milan, Who Combines His Passion for Commerce and IT Within Intouch365 to Transform Fragmented Data From Top International Brands Into Hyper-Personal Customer Profiles

A Math Nerd, an Internship at PSV, and Falling Asleep in a Massage Chair: Every Few Weeks, We Introduce You to an Intouch365 Colleague Through Five Questions. Today, Meet Milan van Maaren!

Milan van Maaren, 27 Years Old, Customer Insights Specialist

1. What Do You Do at Intouch365?

Right now, I am working on a variety of client projects, including major accounts like Campari and Vogelbescherming. Clients provide us with raw data, such as Wi-Fi check-ins, order histories, and website visits. I ingest that information into Customer Insights-Data, clean up any errors, and consolidate the fragmented datasets. This process builds unified customer profiles that deliver a true 360-degree view. Ultimately, this enables companies to segment audiences far more effectively, deploy highly targeted advertising, and deliver hyper-personalized customer experiences.

2. Why Did You Choose Intouch365?

During my graduation internship at PSV, I researched how to personalize their webshop using customer data. I absolutely loved working on that project.

My education bridged the gap between business and IT, rooted in commercial economics. I was looking for a role that combined technical depth with a commercial focus. When I came across the job opening at Intouch365 and saw its focus on AI and cutting-edge technologies, I was instantly hooked.

The close-knit company culture really appealed to me as well. Having worked at large corporate organizations before, I once accidentally fell asleep in a massage chair at work and nobody even noticed I was gone! That would never happen at Intouch365. You are treated as an individual rather than just a number, and you feel that impact every day, which is incredible.

3. When Did You First Encounter Data and AI?

That is a good question… I think it was during my minor in Spain, where I took a course in econometrics. We built predictive models through statistical analysis for instance, calculating the optimal price point for a product. I found that fascinating right from the start.

Later at PSV, I realized how data and AI can reveal distinct consumer trends and behavioral patterns. For example, mothers frequently bought football shirts exclusively for their children, whereas fathers typically bought a shirt for themselves alongside one for their child.
Understanding customer psychology and purchasing behavior is fascinating, and working with data plays directly to my strengths. Back in school, I was always the one who genuinely got excited about building complex Excel sheets!

4. Which Project Have You Learned the Most From So Far?

Without a doubt, Campari. That is the account I have worked on most intensively. Marijn served as the project manager while I led the data ingestion. Because we were leveraging cutting-edge technology with limited out-of-the-box documentation, we had to engineer custom solutions ourselves, which taught me an incredible amount.

I have also gained valuable experience in client management by watching how Marijn runs key stakeholder relationships. By observing effective strategies firsthand, I have been able to sharpen my own communication skills quickly.

5. Describe Working at Intouch365 in One Sentence

It offers immense freedom and room for innovation within an ambitious, high-performing team.

We are an agile team of eight experts including two Customer Insights Specialists, yet we collaborate directly with multi-billion-euro enterprises, which I find incredibly inspiring.
